«Terres d’ Eau» project is part of the Community Initiative Program INTERREG III B MEDOCC. Its development started in June 2006, ended in June 2008 and constitutes an initiative Chamber of Novara (Italy).
Rice is considered as a formal, exceptional European product, which around it is possible to be realised a particular culture but also an environmental, rural and gastronomical tourism, which can contribute in the promotion of local tourist economy and in the safeguarding of particular characteristics of regions in which it is cultivated.
With the term "Terres d' Eau" we mean the national places in which is realised the culture of rice. It is about "Areas of Water" of Greece (Prefecture of Thessaloniki), Italy (Provinces of Novara and Vercelli, Region of Piemonte), France (region of Camargue) and Spain (Andalucia).
The objective of "Terres d' Eau" project is to contribute in the tourist exploitation of regions of the involved institutions, that they are characterized from the culture of rice, via the appointment of their particular environmental, cultural and architectural elements and projection of their characteristic local products.
